Very exciting news: The Weaver’s Trade was launched on Tuesday.

It was a wonderful evening bringing together representatives from the Livery Companies, the Textile Industry and members of the company with the authors Alex Martin and Emma Crichton-Miller to celebrate a book that highlights the extraordinary diversity of an industry that continues to evolve and innovate.

The venue could not have been more appropriate. Christ Church stands at the heart of Spitalfields, home to generations of silk weavers whose skill and enterprise helped shape one of London’s most distinctive communities. Gathering there to mark the publication of The Weaver’s Trade was a fitting tribute to that rich heritage.
