Every year we provide funding to support up to twelve graduates in industry placements that put them on the first step of their career ladder, while helping the industry recruit the next generation of talented individuals.

Jointly supported by the Clothworkers’ Company, the Scheme provides a substantial contribution to a graduate’s salary for their six-month placement, in the hope that the experience will lead to full-time employment. To date, over 80% of the placements have led to offers of permanent roles.

Companies that have taken advantage of the Scheme include weaving businesses, retailers, textile design agencies and consultancies, all wanting to take advantage of the knowledge gained by the graduates during their university degree courses.

Whilst many of the graduates have been woven textile designers, the scheme is also open to supporting graduates with other relevant skills, such as engineering.
