100 and First Foundation exists to support marginalised young people by equipping them with the skills to thrive and the mindset to make positive choices. Our grant was used to fund the ‘For Time’ project at HMP The Mount and included covering the costs of:
- Staffing: Employing a dedicated project officer to deliver the programme.
- Materials: Providing learning materials and resources for participants such as wellness-tracking journals, end of course certificates training t-shirts.
- Evaluation: Conducting pre- and post-programme assessments to measure outcomes.
- Mentoring: Providing ongoing one-to-one mentorship to every participant after the course has completed
We have successfully delivered two 6-week ‘For Time’ courses, engaging 28 participants and achieving positive outcomes in personal development, employability, and social engagement. 5 participants have been released and the Founation are providing through-the-gate mentorship to 3 of them, who are currently in employment and have not reoffended.
Since the courses have concluded, we have brought 2 employers (DOC Cleaning and Savills) into the prison to deliver bespoke employment preparedness workshops to the remaining participants.
