Human Rights Solidarity’s “Yact: Empowering Immigrant Youth” project supports young immigrants and refugees in developing the confidence, skills and opportunities needed to build successful futures in the UK. Supported by a minor grant from The Company, the programme delivered workshops, mentoring and employability support focused on CV writing, interview preparation, communication skills and social integration. The project reached 83 young people, with the majority reporting increased confidence and a stronger understanding of pathways into education and employment.
The project has already demonstrated a lasting impact beyond the initial workshops. Several participants have progressed into Human Rights Solidarity’s Leadership School of Governance programme, while others have gone on to volunteer within the organisation’s wider community projects. One participant, now studying law, described the programme as transformative in helping her secure a professional internship and believe in her own abilities. Through practical support and ongoing mentoring, the project is helping young immigrants feel more connected, empowered and able to contribute positively to their communities.
