Millennial Fund

In December 1995 the Weavers' Company Millennial Fund was launched to celebrate the Company's millennium in 2130.

The primary aim of the Fund is to work alongside underperforming primary schools around the country with the active involvement of members of the Livery supported by occasional grants from the Company. To date two schools, Grange Primary School (since 1997) and Chisenhale Primary School (since 2003) have benefited from the Company's involvement which has included library book donations, regular reading with the children, school fetes, choir formation and other activities.

The Weavers' Company sponsored a lecture at Church House, Westminster, on Tuesday 20th November given by Professor Robin Alexander, Director of The Primary Review.   The Review is the biggest independent enquiry into primary education for almost 40 years and the text of the text of the Lecture is attached.
